[body] => Meeting the Challenge
Thank you to all who were able to attend this year’s virtual conference held on March 31, 2021. We so enjoyed having the opportunity to spend the day with each of you. POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
Keynote: Introduction to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion presented by Traci Price of the Center for Equity and Inclusion
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
Center for Equity and Inclusion is a specialized consulting agency focused on advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts within organizations, education systems and communities. It was born out of the increasing racial and economic disparities experienced in our communities, the perceived lack of a systemic approach to addressing these disparities, and a growing idea about a holistic solution.
Capacity Building Beyond Equipment
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
What does Capacity Building mean to you? If you think of new freezers and shelving, that is one part of building your capacity, but who is interested in taking that to the next level? Spend some time exploring how to expand your capacity beyond equipment and how that opportunity can support our communities in a deeper way.
The Importance Of SNAP In Times Of Economic Decline
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
SNAP has always had a key part in ending hunger work. During times of hardship and economic decline, the focus on SNAP is magnified. This session will look at the great recession (2008) in comparison to the pandemic (2020) to show the impact that SNAP has on the food system, as well as clues on what is to come.
Oasis 2.0: Reporting Made Easy
Whether you are looking for a way to make your monthly reporting easier or you’re already a seasoned veteran of online data tracking, this session will introduce you to what Oasis is and what its new features are. Sit back as our staff show you how to keep track of all client data, assistance counts, TEFAP food pickups, and even how to keep track of everyone on Oasis if you are working without an Internet connection! Our Oasis 2.0 session has something of value for Oasis rookies and veterans alike.
This topic was offered during both break-out sessions. While the overall content is the same, the recordings from each are provided below so that you may watch each for the different questions/conversations that arose during the presentation.
Understanding The 81st Nevada Legislative Session And News From D.C.
Find out what is happening in the 81st session of the Nevada Legislature and what 2021 will bring in the Biden Administration and the Congress.
TEFAP Past, Present, And Future
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
This year’s TEFAP workshop will take a look at what Partner Agencies and FBNN have been able to accomplish over the last couple of years. We’ll discuss the present status of TEFAP, as well as some topics on compliance. We will also dig into the future, and cover topics such as how government stimulus will impact TEFAP in a positive way.
This topic was offered during both break-out sessions. While the overall content is the same, the recordings from each are provided below so that you may watch each for the different questions/conversations that arose during the presentation.
HPI Rebooted: Healthy Pantries In The COVID And Post-COVID Era
Drive-through models and social distance have changed the way many food banks and food pantries do business. Despite the changes, client and community health are always top of mind! This workshop will talk about how you might promote healthy eating and healthy habits to the clients you serve, no matter what your distributions look like nowadays.
Supporting Our Seniors
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION
Nevada is one of the top 10 states with the highest Senior hunger rate in the county. More than 1 in every 10 seniors in our communities goes hungry on a regular basis. Senior Hunger is a top priority of FBNN and we need your help to expand opportunities for food insecure seniors. Learn about Golden Groceries and become one of our Golden Grocery senior pantry sites.
Looking At Food Distribution Through An Equity, Diversity, And Inclusion Lens

Our mission at FBNN is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. How do we make that happen? This session will provide an introduction to the equity, diversity, and inclusion work that we do in order to serve our communities equally and respectfully.
