CANstruction Reno 2026: Thank You for Building Hope
April 26, 2026
What if giving back to your community was as simple as ordering your favorite drink, trying something new, or showing up to support a local business? This September, that is exactly what Northern Nevada Bites Back is all about. As part of Hunger Action Month, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is inviting local businesses to take part in a community-wide effort to help fight hunger in a way that feels natural, creative, and honestly… a lot of fun! Hunger Action Month is represented by the color orange, so you may see businesses leaning into that theme, but how they participate is completely up to them.
Local businesses of all kinds can get involved. Restaurants, coffee shops, bars, bakeries, fitness studios, retail shops, and more can take part in a way that makes sense for them. For some, that might mean creating a special menu. For others, it could be a themed class, a small promotion, or simply using their space to help spread awareness. That item, experience, or moment helps support the Food Bank, whether it is through a portion of sales or by encouraging customers to get involved. That’s really it. No complicated lift and no need to reinvent what you already do. For some businesses, it might look like:
For some businesses, Northern Nevada Bites Back might become a meaningful “giving moment” with customers by sharing how a small purchase can help provide meals for neighbors in our communities. Those moments can be powerful and we’d love to see businesses bring that to life in their own way!
For others, it may be as simple as building awareness by starting conversations and encouraging people to get involved in the community we love! There’s no one way to participate, and that’s exactly what makes this work. Every effort adds up, and every dollar raised helps provide meals to neighbors right here in our communities. From kids and working families to seniors and veterans… Our neighbors.
For businesses that choose to tie in a purchase or featured item, just $1 helps provide 3 meals. Northern Nevada Bites Back really isn’t about doing something perfectly as much as it is about doing something together, as a community. Local businesses get a chance to connect with their customers in a meaningful way, and customers get to support places they already love while giving back!
If you’re a business owner or part of a team that wants to get involved, we’d love to make this easy for you!

We’ll be sharing participating businesses as we go so the community knows exactly where to show their support!
