A simple idea. A big impact. One lemonade stand at a time.
Summer is the perfect time for sunshine, neighborhood fun, and making a real impact in our community. This summer, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada invites kids, families, and youth groups to turn a classic summer tradition into a simple way to help feed local families.
Squeeze Out Hunger is a youth fundraising campaign running July 7 through August 2, with opportunities to participate all summer long.
It’s a hands-on way for kids to experience the joy of giving back while supporting neighbors across northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra.
To add a little extra sweetness, lemonade stands that join the campaign and raise support for local families will be entered into a prize drawing for a chance to win four all-access passes to Coconut Bowl at Wild Island, generously donated by Wild Island.
Whether it’s a lemonade stand at the end of the driveway, a partnership with a local business, or a virtual fundraiser from home, every effort helps provide meals for families in our region.
This campaign was inspired by a real lemonade stand hosted by a local kid in our community. What started as a small weekend idea turned into more than a thousand meals for local families and a lasting lesson about what happens when kids share their ideas out loud.
Squeeze Out Hunger gives kids a chance to turn their energy and ideas into real community impact.
Real-world impact: Every dollar raised helps provide 3 meals for neighbors facing food insecurity. Even a small stand can make a meaningful difference.
Hands-on learning: Kids build confidence, communication skills, and a stronger connection to their community as they share why giving back matters to them.
Simple and flexible: Families choose how and when to participate. We provide the tools to make it easy from start to finish.
The official campaign runs July 7 through August 2.
Families are welcome to participate anytime during the summer. Whether you join early or later in the season, every stand helps support local families.
How It Works
Getting Started is Simple
Register your stand: Sign up online to join the campaign and receive the link to your personal fundraising page. This is where friends, family, and supporters can make secure donations from anywhere.
Set up your lemonade stand: Host your stand at home, in your neighborhood, or at a community event. Prefer to participate virtually? Simply share your fundraising page online and collect donations from wherever you are.
Share your fundraiser: Invite friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and your wider community to support your stand and help reach your fundraising goal.
We’ve created fun social media templates to help young fundraisers step into the role of lemonade stand CEO, making it easy and exciting to spread the word and inspire support.
If you’re hosting an in-person stand, encourage visitors to stop by for a cup of lemonade and learn how they’re helping provide meals for local families.
Make an impact: Every dollar raised helps the Food Bank of Northern Nevada provide meals and hope for neighbors facing hunger across northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra.
Sweeten the Fun
Raise support for local families through Squeeze Out Hunger and you could win, too. As a thank-you for helping make a difference in our community, participating lemonade stands will be entered into a prize drawing for a chance to win four all-access passes to Coconut Bowl at Wild Island, generously donated by Wild Island.
No extra steps needed. Once your stand receives its first donation, you’re automatically entered.
While making a difference is the biggest prize of all, one lucky stand will also enjoy an extra day of fun thanks to Wild Island.
