Food Bank of Northern Nevada

Healthy Food. Every Person. Every Day.

Emergency Food Response

We’re Here for YOu

If you’re worried about feeding your family right now, you’re not alone — and you’re in the right place.

This is a stressful and uncertain time for many families. With the ongoing government shutdown disrupting SNAP benefits, putting food on the table may suddenly feel harder than ever.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is here to help. We’re mobilizing our network of community partners to make sure food keeps moving where it’s needed most. Our trucks are rolling, our shelves are stocked, and we’re working urgently with the state and funders to purchase and deliver even more food.

Whether you’re looking for a nearby food pantry, an emergency distribution, or a free meal program, you can find up-to-date information here.

Partner Food Pantries

Your Local Food Pantry is the Best First Step

Our partner food pantries are the heart of our network, serving communities throughout northern Nevada and the eastern California Sierra.

Each pantry offers a variety of foods – including fresh produce, pantry staples, and other groceries – to help families keep nutritious meals on the table.

We’re delivering additional food to these partners so they can continue serving more families during this time. Visiting a pantry is the best first step for most people who need food right now.

Each pantry operates independently and may have slightly different hours or intake requirements. All pantries will ask you to complete a short intake form the first time you visit. Some may ask for photo ID or other documentation, and this information will be listed on the pantry schedules.

MObile Harvest

Bringing Fresh Food Right to Your Neighborhood

Our Mobile Harvest program brings free, fresh fruits and vegetables and other groceries directly into neighborhoods across our region. It’s designed to make healthy food more accessible for everyone.

Anyone is welcome to attend. No paperwork or registration is required, and photo ID is helpful but not required. You’ll complete a simple intake form the first time you visit any Food Bank program or partner pantry.

If you’re unable to attend a distribution yourself, you can authorize someone else to pick up food for your household.

What to Expect When You Visit

We Want You to Feel Welcome and Prepared

We know visiting a food program can sometimes feel overwhelming. Here’s what to expect so you can feel comfortable and confident when you come.

  • If it’s your first time visiting any Food Bank of Northern Nevada program or partner pantry, you’ll be asked to complete a short intake form. This helps us understand community needs and make sure you’re connected to the right resources.

  • Photo ID is helpful but not required at Mobile Harvest distributions.

  • Some partner pantries may have their own requirements, such as showing a photo ID or proof of address. These details are listed in the pantry schedule.

  • You’ll be greeted by friendly volunteers and staff who are here to help you.

  • Bring reusable bags if you can.

  • You don’t need to be enrolled in SNAP to receive food assistance.
