Who We Are

Our Mission: Feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides food for families in need through more than 150 partner agencies across northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the Sierra in California. We serve more than 130,000 people every month, almost half of whom are children and seniors.

The Food Bank grew from a small pantry to a regional distribution center. We incorporated in 1983 and have operated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for 40 years. Last fiscal year, we provided more than 20 million meals for neighbors who faced hunger.

We are a proud member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks and the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, providing more than 6 billion meals to nearly every community in the U.S.
