Donations to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada go a long way. Every dollar donated will help us distribute four meals. Ask us about a regular monthly gift program, electronic fund transfers, bequests and honorariums. Major contributions specifically dedicated to support special community programs and events increase the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts and provide more resources to the communities we serve.

Friends of the Food Bank
The Friends of the Food Bank program offers committed individuals and organizations an opportunity to contribute to the efforts of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada in a continual, ongoing manner. Whether through regular volunteering, pledge donations via electronic fund transfers or other repeat donations of food, goods, services or money, Friends of the Food Bank make a sustained contribution that allows us to help those in need throughout the year.
Cultivators – Cultivators pledge a specific monetary contribution four or more times per year using one of three methods:
Electronic Fund Transfer from your bank account. Many of our donors have found this to be the easiest way to contribute. Let us fax or email you a signup sheet to return with a copy of a bank deposit slip and your signature. Once arrangements are made, this monthly donation will be automatically withdrawn from your designated bank account.
Manual monthly or quarterly donations via credit card (phoned in to 775-331-3663 or made online) check or money order to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
United Way – As a partner agency to the United Way, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada can be designated as the recipient of your workplace contribution to the United Way campaign.
Harvesters – Harvesters contribute to the Food Bank throughout the year, donating 500 pounds or more of food or the equivalent of $500 or more in services or other in-kind donations.
Helping Hands – Helping Hands are dedicated volunteers who help the Food Bank monthly or even more frequently. Volunteering at the Food Bank is fun! Check out our various volunteer opportunities that range from sorting donated food, to office work to helping out at our wonderful special events.
Daily Bread Providers – These special Friends really do help provide the “daily bread” the Food Bank supplies to our member agencies. A special Food Bank truck makes its rounds every day to grocery stores and other food companies to pick up donated food. Many Daily Bread Providers also support the Food Bank through cash donations from their customers at the check stand: Raley’s Food for Families, Scolari’s Friendship Fund Account 1302, Smith’s Coins for Community.
Friends of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada receive our quarterly newsletter (Food Source), a monthly bulletin (Food for Thought) which includes a receipt for the previous month’s donation, as well as special announcements, invitations and other timely information.

Planned giving and estate planning strategies offer donors the opportunity to thoughtfully and intentionally provide for those they cherish and to continue to support their favorite worthwhile causes.
